Yeast Infection Treatment
Vaginal yeast infections are caused by an overgrowth of fungus in the vagina. Vaginal yeast (candida) is already present in the vagina, and it can be spread or exacerbated by sexual and non-sexual conditions, such as medication or a weakened immune system.
Vaginal yeast infection symptoms include but are not limited to: itching, burning or irritation of the vagina and the vulva, vaginal rash, and white discharge akin to cottage cheese. It is important to see a doctor if you have recurring or persistent yeast infections this could be an underlying symptom of a more serious condition.
Vaginal yeast infections can be visually diagnosed by the physician and treatment can be prescribed. Our physician may recommend dietary and habit changes should she find commonalities that could be causing the infection.
