Gonorrhea/Chlamydia Treatment
Our facility is equipped to test for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. Gonorrhea and Chlamydia are very common infections and are sometimes contracted together or individually. Both infections are spread through sexual contact and can be contracted vaginally, anally, ocularly or orally (Chlamydia is seldom contracted orally).
It is especially important to be tested for both Gonorrhea and Chlamydia because many times patients do not exhibit symptoms. For those who do exhibit symptoms of Gonorrhea and/or Chlamydia the symptoms include but are not limited to: painful urination, white, yellow, or green discharge from the vagina, penis or anus, swelling or itching of the vagina, penis or anus and vaginal bleeding after intercourse.
Gonorrhea and Chlamydia can be detected from a urine sample; we will send the sample to a lab and will follow up with our patients with the results. Should the result come back positive for both or either infection, we will prescribe the necessary medication(s) for treatment.
